Background
I have been training dogs for 19 years, beginning with my
German Shepherds, and over the last 7 years with all breeds
of dogs. Thirty three years as an educator and behavior
specialist has prepared me with an understanding of the
principles of behavior theory: operant conditioning, task
analysis, backwards chaining, modeling, behavior shaping,
reinforcement, and successive approximations. Teaching
young children has amazing similarities to the principles
applied to successful dog training. Knowledge of
tools, the ability to communicate effectively, and organized
and clear session goals leads to the success you will share
with your canine companion.
Actively participating in a dog training club, I have
completed 36 titles on my own dogs over the years. Clients
in my classes have gone on to successfully complete titles
on their own dogs. |

“A newspaper
can be an effective training tool when used properly.
For instance, use the rolled up newspaper if your dog chews
something or has a housetraining accident.
Take the rolled up newspaper and hit yourself over the head as you
repeat this phrase:
I FORGOT TO WATCH MY DOG! I FORGOT TO WATCH MY DOG!
If your dog laughs at you when you do this, praise him.!
